The Blue Sky Trail Marathon is organized by Gnar Runners Event Management, owned and operated by local trail runners Pete Stevenson and Nick Clark.

Our goal for the Blue Sky Marathon is to create a quality trail running event with appeal to everyone in the endurance running community, first-time trail racers and veterans alike. We also are inspired to showcase the beautiful trails and open spaces that we have available to us here in Fort Collins.

Proceeds from the Blue Sky Marathon benefit parks and open spaces and outdoor and sports organizations in Northern Colorado. Over the years, the event has raised thousands of dollars for trail maintenance projects in various jurisdictions of Northern Colorado, and in 2012 the event donated over $8,000 to the High Park wildfire rehabilitation efforts. In addition, proceeds have been donated to youth running programs, largely through the Northern Colorado Running Foundation and the Colorado Association of Recreational Athletics.
